Austin-Healey 100-6 | Almost a Cobra

Before Texan Carrol Shelby teamed up with British sports car manufacturer AC to establish one of the most legendary race cars in automotive history, he approached Austin-Healey. His idea was to put a GM V8 in the nose of a Big Healey and take it to the race track. Neither Donald Healey nor General Motors liked this idea very much, so Shelby moved on and took his plans elsewhere. We took an Austin-Healey 100-6 for a spin and enjoyed a form of motoring that sadly disappeared long ago.
